General Skilled Migration Visa Program

General Skilled Migration Visa is permanent/ provisional visas for people who are not able to be sponsored by an employer but have skills in occupations required in Australia. To be eligible for this, the main applicant must be over the age of 18, have a minimum of Competent English language proficiency, and have the skills and qualifications for one of the following occupations on Australia’s Skilled

  • Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)
  • Regional Occupation List (ROL)

A positive and valid Skills Assessment from an Australian Skill Assessment Body is mandatory before applying for the Expression of Interest (EOI). Applications for visa subclasses under this program are points-tested which vary year to year as per the profession and State/Territory requirement. The application may include the spouse/partner and additional family unit members, which should be discussed while writing the application.
