Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible to apply for a Parent Visa, you must:

Pass the balance of family test (at least half your children live in Australia)
Be the parent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
you have lived in Australia as a settled resident for a required period (usually at least two years for certain sponsorships)
Have a sponsor (your child) who is at least 18 years old
Have an approved Assurance of Support
