Do you also dream of moving to Australian countries and aspire to procure permanent residency? Australian Permanent Residency offers several benefits to make life easier so everyone runs for it. But it is not that easy to apply for permanent residency.
There are different eligibility criteria in different countries for granting permanent residency. And one must fulfill those in order to securely apply for permanent residency. If you don’t fulfill all the norms that are generated by the particular migration department, their PR won’t be granted to you.
So today in this article we are going to discuss how you can get permanent residency in Australia successfully.
Step-by-step guide for getting Australian Permanent Residency
An application for Australian skilled immigration PR can be divided into the following steps:
Step 1: Check your PR eligibility.
Before starting the PR process, you have to check whether you are eligible for the application of PR or not. Check for your occupation in the occupation list generated by the Australian migration department. Now you need a minimum of 65 points to be eligible for a PR application. And complete the form to find out the points you can claim.
Step 2: English language exams.
Once you know that you are eligible to apply for PR, the first thing you have to do is, go for an English competency test. On the home of the PR application website, they have clearly mentioned which are the tests that they accept and how much is required score for each test.
There are 2 very common test options PTE and IELTS. There are some mock tests which one can give to check for which test is better for them. Points for the English test are in your hand. You cannot change your work experience or your education so score as much as possible on your English test.
Step 3: Skill assessment.
Find out in which skill category you belong to in ANZISCO which is Australia and New Zealand’s standard classification of occupation list. Each skill is assessed by a particular authority. Read in detail by clicking on the existing code. Check the task mentioned also the roles and responsibilities to verify whether you fall under which code.
Once you know your assessing authority, go to their website and check all documents that are required. Gather all those documents and keep a soft copy of all those documents. Read the guidelines carefully and upload the documents in the format they have suggested.
In this step, the assessing authority will compare your skill, education, and work experience with the Australian standard. Once the skill assessment is done, you will receive an email from the assessing authority from which you will get to know about your points.
Step 3: Expression of Interest.
Once the skill assessment is done, calculate the points that you have. This will give you an idea for which particular visa subclass you want to go for like visa 189, 190, or 491 and you can submit the EOI accordingly.
For submitting EOI, you have to first create your skill select account. Once that is done fill in all the details like passport details, skill assessment details, and then finally submit your EOI. After this, you will receive a mail of your score breakdown and then you will finally receive an invitation in some time depending upon your score.
Step 4: Receiving an invitation.
Once you receive an invitation, you will be given 60 days to apply for a visa, upload all your documents, and to make the payment. Once you have uploaded documents and made the payment, you will receive a confirmation email of your visa application. Now lastly you will receive the visa grant and check all the details in the letter properly and check when you have to make your first entry. This process can sometimes be a heavy task so be patient, take one step at a time, read all the documents carefully, and provide them with accurate information.
