Child Visa
Child Visa Australia – Subclass 101 & 802

What Is a Child Visa?
The Child Visa allows eligible children of Australian citizens or permanent residents to live permanently in Australia with their parents.
There are two main visa options:
- Subclass 101 (Offshore): For children applying from outside Australia.
- Subclass 802 (Onshore): For children already in Australia on a valid visa.
Both visas grant the same rights and benefits—only the child’s location at the time of application determines the subclass.
Who Can Sponsor a Child?
To sponsor a child, you must be:
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
- The biological, adoptive, or step-parent of the child
- Able to show legal guardianship and provide parental consent
We also assist in complex cases, including adoption, shared parental responsibility, or when a child has been living with another guardian.
Is Your Child Eligible?
To qualify for a child visa, the applicant must:
- Be under 18 years old, or under 23 if a full-time student and financially dependent
- Be unmarried and not engaged
- Be dependent on the sponsoring parent
- Meet health and character requirements
